ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A toddler was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital following a tragic accident at West Point Lake, as reported by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene at Yellow Jacket Beach on Monday evening at around 6:20 p.m. The 3-year-old child had been rescued from the water by bystanders who were administering CPR when authorities arrived.

Upon the arrival of deputies and other first responders, they took over the life-saving efforts for the toddler. The child is currently undergoing treatment, and their current condition remains unknown at this time.
