A tragic incident unfolded in Langley on Friday, Aug. 2, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Dillan Unger. The shooting, which also left another individual injured, has sparked an investigation by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

According to IHIT spokesperson Cpl. Chase Smith, the shooting appears to have been targeted and isolated. The incident occurred on a property on 202B Street, where police responded to reports of gunshots in the early morning hours.
Unger, a longtime Langley resident with a history of run-ins with the law, succumbed to his injuries, while the other victim has been released from the hospital. IHIT is urging anyone with information or dash camera footage from the area to come forward.
Unger’s past brushes with the law include a conviction in 2004 for violent muggings, as well as a recent charge for theft under $5,000. His co-accused in the 2003 muggings, Kyle Llewellyn Barber, met a tragic end in 2009 at the hands of gangster Albert Jackman.
