What happened in the horrific incident?

It was a normal day for me as an IAS student, studying hard to achieve my dream of becoming a civil servant. Little did I know that a nightmare was about to unfold. In just 10 minutes, the basement where me and my friends were studying was flooded with water. The panic and chaos that ensued were unimaginable.

I immediately called the police and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for help at 6:40 PM, but to our dismay, they did not arrive until 9 PM. Those three hours felt like an eternity as we struggled to stay afloat in the rising water.

How did you survive the incident?

Despite the terrifying situation, we managed to keep our wits about us and stay calm. We stayed together as a group, supporting and encouraging each other through the ordeal. We used whatever we could find as makeshift floatation devices to stay above the water.

When the authorities finally arrived, we were rescued from the basement one by one. It was a moment of immense relief and gratitude to be safely out of harm’s way.

What happened to your friends?
