Obituary – Death – Cause of Death News : Tragedy struck on July 22 in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island as 54-year-old Jennifer Kathleen Purcell from Albuquerque, New Mexico, lost her life in a possible drowning incident. The events unfolded just before 6 p.m. on July 21, when Kona patrol officers and Hawai’i Fire Department responders rushed to the 75-5600 block of Ali‘i Drive after receiving reports of a potential drowning.

Purcell was discovered floating face down in the waters near the shore, prompting bystanders to pull her out and administer CPR until medics arrived. Despite efforts to save her, Purcell succumbed to the tragedy, passing away at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu the following morning.
