It’s with a heavy heart that we report the devastating news of a fatal accident that took the life of Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy Meredith Portillo, along with two other individuals. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning near IH-37 and Southton Rd when Deputy Portillo’s 2024 Ford Mustang was struck by a wrong-way driver.

Deputy Portillo, who was off-duty at the time, had two passengers in her vehicle, one of whom suffered serious injuries in the collision.
