SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – In a significant breakthrough, investigators from the Felony Crime Unit in Salem have successfully apprehended four individuals in connection with two separate stolen motorcycle cases. The arrests were made on Thursday, following a thorough investigation by the Salem Police Department.

The investigation led detectives to a storage facility located on 22nd Street Southeast, where they discovered one of the stolen motorcycles along with three suspects, including two adults and a minor. The suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle but were quickly apprehended by the authorities.

A search warrant was subsequently executed for both the vehicle and the storage unit, leading to the seizure of a short-barreled shotgun, a handgun, body armor, and several pieces of stolen mail.

The situation took a dramatic turn when, at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, two individuals on motorcycles arrived at the storage facility. One of the riders fired multiple gunshots into the air before both individuals fled the scene at high speeds.

High-Speed Pursuit Ensues

Shortly after the incident, the two suspects were spotted near State Street and Lancaster Drive. A pursuit ensued, resulting in one of the suspects crashing their motorcycle near Lancaster Drive and Rockey Street Southeast. The suspect was apprehended, while the other managed to evade capture.

The two adults arrested at the scene have been identified as Zakiry Davis, 18, of Salem, and Natalie Genene Hefley, 32, of Mill City. Both individuals are facing charges related to motor vehicle theft. The 15-year-old minor was also arrested and taken into juvenile detention.

The suspect who attempted to flee the scene has been identified as Zayn Free Bristow, 25, of Mill City. Bristow is facing multiple charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, eluding police, reckless driving, and various theft-related offences.

Legal Proceedings

Bristow is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Friday, July 12, at the Marion County Court. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the stolen motorcycle cases, with more arrests and charges expected to follow.
