Accident – Death – Obituary News : (Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) – Three individuals traveling in an RV sustained critical injuries in a serious traffic collision that resulted in the closure of a section of I-90 in Austin on Thursday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 1 PM on westbound I-90 near the Oakland Avenue West interchange on the western outskirts of Austin. Following the crash, traffic was diverted off the westbound lanes of the freeway from Highway 218 to the Oakland Avenue West interchange for several hours.
According to the preliminary State Patrol report, the collision involved an RV and a pickup truck, both traveling west on I-90. The RV was being driven by 75-year-old William Byassee from Hamburg, Pennsylvania. His passengers were identified as 67-year-old Kimberly Byassee and 13-year-old Abigail Byassee. They were all rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic ambulance with injuries described as life-threatening.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 21-year-old Logan Murphy of Austin, accompanied by a 19-year-old man from Austin as his passenger. Fortunately, both individuals in the pickup truck emerged from the crash unscathed.
