An Israeli soldier, Sergeant First Class (reserve) Valeri Chefonov, tragically lost his life in a Hezbollah drone attack on the Western Galilee. The 33-year-old soldier, hailing from Netanya, served as the vehicle management officer of the 228th “Alon” Brigade’s 9308th Battalion.

According to a statement released by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Friday, several explosive-laden drones were launched by Hezbollah towards Kibbutz Kabri, resulting in the death of Sergeant Chefonov.
The IOF reported that multiple drones breached Israeli airspace from Lebanon, targeting the Western Galilee area. While some of the drones were successfully intercepted by air defences, others managed to inflict damage.
