Two-year-old Deagoo Henry remains in hospital after undergoing two surgeries following a tragic drive-by shooting incident that claimed the life of his mother, 28-year-old Tiarra Holliday, in Broward County, Florida.

Deagoo’s father, D’Angelo Henry, is mourning the loss of his partner, Tiarra Holliday, who tragically lost her life in a shooting incident on Monday evening at Northwest Eighth Street and 10 Terrace in Fort Lauderdale.

Tiarra Holliday displayed incredible bravery by shielding her son from the gunfire, but both mother and son sustained injuries in the attack. Witnesses reported hearing Tiarra’s desperate cries for help as she tried to protect her child.

Despite being shot in the head, Tiarra managed to make her way to a nearby convenience store, where she pleaded for assistance for Deagoo before succumbing to her injuries. The scene was described as heartbreaking, with Tiarra’s body collapsing inside the store and Deagoo lying injured on the street.

Deagoo’s grandmother, Shontrelle Holliday, expressed pride in Tiarra’s selfless actions, stating that Tiarra prioritised her son’s safety above her own. The family is devastated by the loss of a beloved daughter and mother.

In addition to Tiarra Holliday, another victim of the shooting was identified as Sheldon Lawrence, a 45-year-old father who tragically passed away at Broward Health Medical Center. Two other individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

Following the shooting, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department released surveillance footage of the incident and announced the recovery of a vehicle believed to be linked to the crime. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
