Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A 28-year-old man, identified as Sumit Chaudhary alias Prem, was brutally stabbed to death in the Bhajanpura area of northeast Delhi by a group of men, police reported on Thursday.
Details of the Incident
The tragic incident took place late on Wednesday night outside Sumit’s house in Gamri Extension. According to DCP (northeast) Joy Tirkey, the attack occurred around 11.30 pm when Sumit was sitting outside his house. A verbal altercation escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in the accused stabbing him multiple times in his face, chest, and neck area.

Sumit sustained more than 17 wounds on his face alone and was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by locals. Despite efforts to save him, doctors declared him brought dead.
Victim’s Background
Sumit was married and had a three-year-old son. It was revealed that he had a criminal record, having been convicted in an attempted murder case. Recently, he was granted bail by the Delhi High Court.
Police Investigation
The police have registered a case of murder and have initiated a thorough investigation into the killing. CCTV footage from the crime scene is being examined to trace the route taken by the perpetrators to reach the spot. Multiple teams have been deployed to apprehend the culprits, and the investigation is ongoing.
DCP Tirkey emphasised that the police are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that such heinous crimes are not tolerated in the community.
Residents of Bhajanpura area are shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Sumit and are calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
