Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the tragic loss of Deputy Fernando Esqueda, 28, who was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, July 10th. Deputy Esqueda, a valued member of the HCSO for five years, was ambushed and shot multiple times while reporting the location of a suspect’s vehicle involved in an earlier incident. Despite the efforts of his fellow officers to rush him to the hospital, Deputy Esqueda tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The incident began with an aggravated assault at 15634 Wallisville Road in Houston, at a Little Caesar’s Pizza establishment in East Harris County. The suspect in both incidents has been identified as 44-year-old Ronald “Ronnie” Palmer Jr., who is currently at large. Palmer, described as a tall black man with tattoos on both arms and dreadlocks, is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing a black jersey with the “Bel-Air Academy” logo, red and white shorts, and had a towel over his shoulder.
