Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Residents of Byangiri in Nakatoogo Parish, Nabigasa Sub-county, Kyotera District are in shock and fear after the body of Polofi Tamale, a well-known coffee farmer, was discovered in his coffee estate.

The unsettling discovery comes after a two-day search for the 57-year-old, who went missing on Sunday.

Tamale’s lifeless body was found just a kilometre from his residence, lying in one of his sprawling coffee estates.

A respected figure in the community, Tamale was not only a successful coffee farmer but also owned several rental properties in Byangiri town.

Leonard Ssentongo, the village chairman of Byangiri, and Tamale’s brother, recounted the events leading up to his tragic demise.

“We observed him in the company of Bwanika, who persuaded him to go for a drink,” Ssentongo disclosed.

Tamale had departed from his home on Saturday, July 6, accompanied by a friend known as Bwanika for a drinking session.

Relatives and acquaintances of the late Tamale disclosed that he had a propensity for alcohol consumption, often neglecting his meals.

“Whenever he indulged in drinking, he would forego eating,” locals shared.

Some attribute his passing to excessive drinking and inadequate nutrition.

However, Tamale’s spouse, Rose Namata, harbours suspicions of foul play and has urged for a thorough inquiry.

“There are individuals with whom he had conflicts regarding child custody. I believe this could be linked to his demise,” Ms Namata asserted.

Twaha Kasirye, the police spokesperson in Masaka, verified that investigations are currently underway.

“The deceased’s body has been transferred to Kalisizo hospital for a detailed examination to determine the cause of death,” Kasirye confirmed.
