In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, the dismembered body of a man working in Saudi Arabia was discovered in a remote village in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. The gruesome discovery was made on Wednesday morning, with the victim’s body found chopped into 17 pieces at Bandhapara village under Chaitma police station limits.

Korba SP Siddharth Tiwari revealed that the locals stumbled upon the horrific scene around 9:30 AM and immediately alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, the police found the victim’s head, torso, hands, and feet meticulously packed into separate sacks and school bags, painting a gruesome picture of the heinous crime.

Further investigation led to the identification of the victim as 28-year-old Mohammad Wasim Ansari, a resident of Ranchi. The discovery came as a shock to his family, who were unaware of his return from Saudi Arabia, where he had been working for the past two and a half years.

Four of Ansari’s relatives from Ranchi’s Luar Bazaar, Katatauli, travelled to Katghora to identify the body. His elder brother, Mohammad Tahseem, expressed disbelief at the tragic turn of events, stating that the family was completely unaware of any threats or issues that could have led to such a brutal end for his brother.

“We are unable to fathom what has happened and why he was killed. He was simple and straightforward. The policeman has told me that the accused have been caught but one more is yet to be found,” Tahseem lamented, highlighting the family’s confusion and grief.

It was revealed that Ansari’s family had been preparing for his marriage, adding a heartbreaking layer to the already devastating situation. Korba SP Siddharth Tiwari assured that the investigation was ongoing, with several suspects already in custody as authorities work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
