Jerry Dorisme : Orlando man arrested for Fourth of July murder of 13-year-old

A man has been taken into custody in connection with the tragic death of a 13-year-old girl in Orlando on July Fourth, according to officials.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jerry Loreeson Dorisme, has been charged with first-degree felony murder by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The victim, Rose Thalie Dieujuste, was discovered unresponsive and with visible signs of trauma on South Rio Grande Avenue in Orlando. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.

Prior to the arrest, authorities released surveillance footage showing a person of interest in the case. The video captured a man leaving the area wearing white trousers and a pink shirt, carrying a bag as he exited the scene.

Thanks to tips from concerned members of the community who spotted the individual in the video, law enforcement was able to apprehend the suspect. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled to hold a press conference on Friday at 10 a.m. to provide further updates on the arrest.
