Accident – Death – Obituary News :
The 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway has requested the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to look into the circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon. The incident involved deputies from the White County Sheriff’s Office.
According to preliminary information, the shooting took place shortly after 3:00 PM at a residence in the 100 block of Olen Road. Deputies were responding to a previous disturbance call at a nearby location involving the individual identified as James John Fox, aged 40. Upon the deputies’ arrival, Fox allegedly emerged from his home and fired a rifle at them. In response, the deputies returned fire, resulting in Fox being fatally wounded. Fortunately, no law enforcement officers sustained any injuries during the incident.
TBI special agents are currently conducting an independent investigation to ascertain the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. This includes gathering evidence and conducting interviews to establish a clear understanding of the situation. Once the investigative findings are complete, they will be presented to the District Attorney General for further review and consideration.
