Baza, a Telegram news channel with alleged ties to Russia’s security services, revealed that a manhunt was underway for a serviceman armed with a Kalashnikov automatic rifle and 70 rounds of ammunition. While the exact number of casualties was not independently verified, Baza later updated their report to confirm that two soldiers had been killed and one wounded in the shooting that occurred late on Thursday.

A blurred photograph shared by the outlet purportedly showed the alleged shooter, identified as 29-year-old Alexei from the republic of Chuvashia in central Russia. Although his last name was not disclosed, it was reported that he had taken the weapon and ammunition near the military site where the tragic incident unfolded.
