Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Detectives have identified the teenager who was tragically killed in Finsbury Park on Thursday as 19-year-old Ahmed Habib from Islington. The victim’s family is receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
The incident was reported at around 02:50hrs on Thursday, 11 July, when two men were found injured in a car on Stroud Green Road, at the junction of Tollington Park, N4. Ahmed was discovered with stab wounds and despite efforts from emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Kirk, leading the investigation from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, expressed his condolences to Ahmed’s family and emphasized the commitment to uncovering the truth behind the violent circumstances that led to his death. He urged anyone with information or dashcam footage from Seven Sisters Road to Stroud Green Road to come forward.
Superintendent Annmarie Cowley, responsible for policing in Islington and Camden, acknowledged the concerns in the local community following the incident and assured residents of increased police presence in the area for support and reassurance.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
