The incident occurred at the intersection of Silver Lake and Duffield Roads, prompting a swift response from officers of the Argentine Township Police Department and Michigan State Police.

According to the Argentine Township Police Department, the elderly woman was a passenger in a car driven by her 70-year-old daughter. As they were travelling west on Silver Lake Road, the driver attempted to make a left turn onto South Duffield Road. Tragically, their vehicle collided with a GMC 3500 pickup truck that was heading east on Silver Lake Road.

Emergency services arrived at the scene promptly, but the 94-year-old woman was pronounced dead on-site. The driver, her 70-year-old daughter, was rushed to Hurley Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck, a 46-year-old man from Byron, sustained injuries and was taken to McLaren Hospital in Flint for treatment. He was reported to be in good condition.
