Authorities have arrested one suspect following a shooting incident outside Greenville High School on Tuesday afternoon.

The Greenville ISD Police Department reported that the shooting took place outside the school’s athletic facility. The incident involved the ex-wife of a staff member and coach at Greenville High School.

The suspect, identified as Tekeysha McCloud, allegedly attempted to harm the staff member by firing a single shot from a white Volkswagen sedan outside the Roy Q Traylor Athletic Facility. Thankfully, no students or staff were injured in the incident.

Swift Response

Greenville ISD police officers, along with Greenville police, Greenville Fire and Rescue, and AMR Hunt County, quickly responded to the scene. Surveillance footage helped officers identify the suspect’s vehicle, leading to McCloud’s arrest in Dallas later that day.

McCloud, 45, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully carrying a firearm in a gun-free school zone. She is currently held at the Hunt County Detention Center on a bond of $105,000.
