A mother and her boyfriend, Sierra Privette and Micah Wynn, who were previously charged with child abuse following the death of a 3-year-old boy in Dunn, are now facing a murder charge. The tragic incident involved the death of Marcos Olajuwon Arias, Jr.
Tragic Discovery
On Monday, June 24, at around 10 a.m., Dunn Police Department officers responded to a distressing call at a residence on Ponderosa Drive. They were summoned to assist Dunn EMS with an unresponsive 3-year-old boy.
According to reports, the child, identified as Marcos or “OJ” by his family, was discovered bruised and battered. He was rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to a trauma center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Legal Ramifications
In the aftermath of this heartbreaking incident, Privette was charged with negligent child abuse and detained under a $1 million bond. Subsequently, Wynn, who was present at the residence during the incident, was charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury on July 1.

The Dunn Police Chief, Cary Jackson, expressed his profound sorrow over the situation, stating, “It is very devastating.
