London – The Metropolitan Police Department has announced a significant development in a cold case homicide dating back to 2019. Pedro Alexander Joya Argueta, a 25-year-old man from Frederick, MD, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of 16-year-old Eberson Guerra-Sanchez in Washington, D.C.
The tragic incident took place on April 27, 2019, when authorities responded to a distress call regarding an unconscious individual in a wooded area near the 5200 block of Canal Road, Northwest. Upon arrival, they discovered Guerra-Sanchez, who had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
After years of relentless investigation, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service, apprehended Joya Argueta on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. He now faces charges of First Degree Murder While Armed-Felony Murder.
