A resident in Colorado was surprised to find a mysterious delivery of edible marijuana products at their doorstep, leading them to contact local law enforcement for assistance.

After receiving a report of potential fraud, officers from the Lakewood Police Department swiftly responded to a home located in Lakewood, just a short 8-mile distance from Denver.

The victim disclosed to the police that their UPS account had been compromised and used to ship large packages without their consent. The perpetrator, known as “Mr. Scott” from Georgia, was identified in connection with the incident.

Upon inspection, a package that had been returned to the victim’s residence was found to contain a staggering 7 pounds of marijuana-infused edibles. The assortment of products included coconut cake, cotton candy, bubble gum, and blue cherry-flavored dipping dots.

Lakewood Police took to social media to address the situation, stating, “Sooooo to Mr. Scott in Georgia, we have your package here at the PD!”

According to information provided by UPS, the shipping service holds the right to dispose of any shipment containing marijuana, hemp, or hemp products that are tendered for shipment in violation of their shipping policies.

Similar Incidents Involving Marijuana Packages

In a separate case in May, authorities in Arkansas intercepted a package containing 10 pounds of marijuana en route to a residence in Paragould. The suspect was apprehended after attempting to retrieve the package and was found to be in possession of firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Similarly, last September, a police department in North Carolina received a package intended for delivery to a residence. Upon inspection, it was discovered to contain 10 pounds of marijuana. The department issued a public statement urging the individual responsible for sending the illicit package to collect it from the station.
