A Year 10 student at a private school in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli has been left with multiple injuries, including a broken tooth, after being severely beaten by his teacher for failing to complete his homework, according to local police.

Reports suggest that the teacher’s attack was so brutal that the student lost consciousness and collapsed on the floor. The teacher then fled the scene, leaving the injured student in need of urgent medical attention.

Upon learning of the incident, the school principal quickly intervened and rushed the student to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities have since arrested the teacher, identified as Mohammed Asif, who taught science subjects (Chemistry and Physics) at the school. He was apprehended on Wednesday following the violent incident.

Salon Station House Officer (SHO), J.P. Singh, revealed that the student had been assigned homework back in April before the school closed for summer vacation.

When the student returned to school on Tuesday, the teacher inquired about the unfinished assignment. The student explained that he had faced personal issues that had hindered his completion of the homework, triggering the teacher’s violent outburst.

“The boy was subjected to a beating with a stick by the teacher, causing him to lose consciousness and sustain serious injuries to his mouth and face,” stated the police, citing a complaint lodged by the student’s father.

The SHO also confirmed that the school has launched an internal investigation into the matter to address the teacher’s actions.

The student’s father expressed his shock and dismay at the brutal treatment his son had endured, revealing that the student had to be hospitalized on Tuesday but was discharged the following day.
