A 29-year-old woman from Wolcott, identified as Michelle Miller, is currently facing a slew of charges in connection with a tragic wrong-way crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals and her own dog, according to state police in Connecticut.

Miller was arrested and charged with two counts of manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, two counts of misconduct with a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment in the first degree, cruelty to animals, injury or risk of injury to a minor, reckless driving, speeding, driving the wrong way on divided highways, and failure to maintain the proper lane.

The incident took place on Interstate 84 in West Hartford on September 6, 2023. Miller was driving westbound on I-84 when she abruptly veered left, crossed the median, and entered the eastbound lanes, ultimately colliding with a Subaru Impreza.

Tragically, both occupants of the Subaru, identified as 26-year-old Natalia Dudzinski and a 2-year-old passenger, lost their lives in the crash. Furthermore, Miller’s dog, who was also in the vehicle at the time, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.

An analysis of Miller’s blood revealed the presence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the incident, further complicating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Miller voluntarily turned herself in to authorities and was subsequently held on a $750,000 bond. She appeared in court on Thursday morning to face the charges brought against her.

The community remains in shock and mourning in the aftermath of this devastating event, as the repercussions of Miller’s actions continue to reverberate throughout West Hartford and beyond.
