A 64-year-old man has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting his neighbour to death in Long Beach. The incident occurred on the 700 block of East First Street, near Alamitos Avenue, around 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday. Long Beach Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired and discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Despite administering life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics.

Neighbours Involved in Fatal Shooting

Upon further investigation, authorities determined that the suspect and victim were neighbours. However, no motive for the shooting has been disclosed at this time. The suspect, identified as John Higginbotham of Long Beach, was apprehended and taken to the Long Beach city jail. He has been booked on suspicion of murder, with bail set at $2 million.
