Patton, Mo. (KFVS) – A Marble Hill resident is currently in a serious condition after a harrowing incident in Bollinger County. The individual, identified as 91-year-old Jerry L. Turner, suffered severe injuries after falling out of a truck and being struck by it.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that the accident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The location of the incident was on Highway M, just three miles south of Patton.

The unfortunate event unfolded as Turner, the driver of a 2012 Ford Truck, was in the process of reversing his vehicle. However, a mishap led to Turner falling out of the truck, subsequently being hit by the very vehicle he was operating.

Following the incident, emergency services swiftly responded and Turner was airlifted by Air EVAC to the St. Louis University Medical Center for urgent medical attention to address his serious injuries.

It was noted by the MSHP that Turner was not utilising any safety equipment at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the severity of his injuries.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to safety measures while operating any form of vehicle. The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
