A 29-year-old Cicero resident who allegedly shot and wounded a woman on the West Side of Chicago has been apprehended and is facing charges of attempted murder.

Jean Carlos Rodriguez Colmenarez has been accused of the following, as per the Chicago police:

  • One charge of felony – attempt – first-degree murder
  • One charge of felony – aggravated battery involving firearm discharge
  • One charge of felony – aggravated UUW/Person/No Foid

He was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. on July 8 in the 600 block of S. Newport in Pontiac, Ill., following his identification as a suspect in a shooting earlier that day, according to law enforcement authorities.

Colmenarez reportedly shot and harmed a 29-year-old woman in the 400 block of Lawndale.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on July 11.
