Indianapolis, UK – Darren Kimbrough, a 45-year-old man from Indianapolis, is currently facing a warrant for his arrest on charges of felony burglary and theft after an incident involving a lawnmower and bicycle theft.
Details of the Incident
Court documents reveal that on May 18, at around 4 p.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a burglary report in the 1100 block of W. 34th Street.
The victim reported that upon returning home from a hardware store, she was approached by a man, later identified as Darren Kimbrough, who offered to mow her lawn for $15. Kimbrough, wearing a navy shirt and a black durag, had his own lawnmower with him.

After agreeing to let Kimbrough mow her lawn, the victim sent gas money to her neighbour, who paid Kimbrough in cash. Kimbrough then proceeded to mow the victim’s yard.
However, the situation took a turn when the victim went inside her house and returned to find Kimbrough in her detached garage, having kicked down the door, and stealing her lawnmower and a Huffy bicycle.
Escaping the Scene
Upon being confronted by the victim, Kimbrough allegedly fled down an alleyway, riding the stolen Huffy bike and pushing both his and the victim’s lawnmowers.
The victim incurred a cost of $75 to replace the garage door and reported the incident on social media. She provided IMPD with a post showing Kimbrough pushing two lawnmowers while riding a bike.
Legal Consequences
The victim identified Kimbrough through a photo array and estimated the total value of the stolen items at around $775. As of the time of writing, Kimbrough has an active warrant for his arrest, facing charges of felony burglary and theft by a person with a prior conviction.
Authorities urge anyone with information on Kimbrough’s whereabouts to contact the IMPD immediately.
