In a dramatic turn of events, a suspected car lifter was gunned down by the police while his accomplices managed to escape during a shootout in the early hours of Wednesday in Taxila.

The police spokesperson stated that the suspect met his demise as a result of the firing from his own gang members, highlighting the chaotic and dangerous nature of the criminal underworld.
Details of the Incident
According to the police report, the vehicle lifters posed as passengers and booked a taxi belonging to Mohammad Hanif from Qutbal village in Fatehjang on July 1. Tragically, they not only stole his vehicle but also took his life, leaving his body abandoned in an under-construction housing society within the jurisdiction of New Airport police station.
An investigation has been launched by the police, who have registered a case against the unidentified vehicle lifters. The authorities are working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that such heinous crimes do not go unpunished.
Police Operation and Confrontation
A dedicated team from the New Airport police, armed with digital intelligence, had been tracking the suspected car lifters. The pursuit led to a tense standoff on Haji Shah Road, within the jurisdiction of Attock Saddar police station, where the criminals opened fire on the approaching police party.

Despite the assailants’ attempts to evade capture, the police managed to engage in a firefight that ultimately resulted in one of the suspects being fatally wounded by his own associates, who fled the scene in the chaos that ensued.
Identification of the Deceased
The deceased suspect was later identified as Adnan, hailing from Kanyial tehsil in Fatehjang. His body was promptly transported to District Headquarters Hospital Attock for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence for the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have taken swift action in response to the incident, ensuring that all necessary legal measures are being pursued to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice.
