The decomposing body of a 33-year-old woman, identified as Yazmeen Williams, a graduate of Buffalo State University in 2016, was discovered wrapped in a sleeping bag and discarded on the sidewalk for trash collection in New York City.

The disturbing find took place at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday in the Kips Bay neighbourhood, following reports to the police regarding a suspicious package emitting a foul odour outside a building. Responding officers uncovered the remains within a sleeping bag among other rubbish bags awaiting collection.

Video footage and images circulated on social media depict what appears to be a body enveloped in a dark sleeping bag, additionally concealed within black trash bags. The circumstances surrounding Williams’ death remain unclear, however, a male suspect has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The tragic discovery has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing disbelief and horror at the callous act. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of Williams’ death and to bring those responsible to justice.
