CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals, successfully apprehended a 58-year-old sex offender who was wanted in both Ohio and Florida.
The offender, Vincent Grant, had been convicted of sex crimes in Cuyahoga County back in 2009. However, Grant failed to comply with the registration requirements in both Ohio and St. Johns County, Florida.
According to U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot, the investigation into Grant’s whereabouts began after authorities in Jacksonville, Florida, identified him as a fugitive possibly hiding in the Cleveland area. The NOVFTF swiftly acted on this information and located Grant in the 6800 block of Quimby Ave.
Marshal Elliot emphasised the importance of apprehending fugitive sex offenders, stating that they pose a significant threat to communities by evading capture and registration. He commended the efforts of the task force in bringing Grant to justice.

Following his arrest, Vincent Grant will be facing charges in Cuyahoga County before being extradited back to Florida to address the outstanding warrants against him.
