Despite the valiant efforts of witnesses and first responders who administered CPR, the 50-year-old hiker, hailing from San Angelo, Texas, could not be revived.
According to the National Park Service, the deceased had stayed overnight at the Havasupai Gardens campground before embarking on his hike towards the canyon’s rim. This tragic event follows two similar incidents in June, where individuals were found in distress on the River Trail and Bright Angel Trail, respectively. Unfortunately, all three hikers succumbed to their conditions.
