Authorities in Hamilton have apprehended a suspect following a rampage in a parking lot where 36 vehicles were vandalised overnight. The incident occurred at an apartment building parking lot, prompting multiple calls to the police around 12:50 a.m. Reports indicated that a 33-year-old man armed with a machete was seen damaging vehicles and provoking altercations with bystanders.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement officers, the suspect relinquished the weapon and was taken into custody without further incident. The individual is now facing charges of mischief and violating probation, as confirmed by the police.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the chaotic episode, offering some relief to residents and vehicle owners affected by the destructive behaviour.
