WASHINGTON – A man has been taken into custody in relation to a homicide case dating back to 2019. The Metropolitan Police Department arrested 25-year-old Pedro Alexander Joya Argueta from Frederick, Maryland on Tuesday, July 9, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service.

Joya Argueta has been formally charged with first degree murder while armed-felony murder. The incident in question took place on April 27, 2019, around 7:24 pm, in a wooded area near the 5200 block of Canal Road, Northwest. Officers responded to a report of an unconscious individual and discovered a teenager, identified as 16-year-old Eberson Guerra-Sanchez from Frederick, MD, with multiple stab wounds. Tragically, Guerra-Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case surrounding the homicide of Eberson Guerra-Sanchez remains open and under active investigation by law enforcement authorities. Additional details about the circumstances leading to the arrest of Pedro Alexander Joya Argueta have not been disclosed at this time.
