SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Law enforcement authorities in Scottsville, Kentucky, have arrested two individuals on drug-related charges following a routine traffic stop.

According to a statement released by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when deputies pulled over a vehicle on the 3,000 block of Old Gallatin Road at approximately 8:45 a.m.

During the stop, deputies discovered that the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Burgett, 47, was wanted on an active warrant and was subsequently taken into custody.

Furthermore, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Tammy Hammock, 55, was found to be in possession of a bag of methamphetamine and multiple Xanax pills, as reported by the deputies on the scene.

As a result of the discovery, Burgett has been charged with failure to appear, while Hammock is facing charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) as well as third-degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified.

Both individuals were transported to the Allen County Detention Center, with Burgett being subsequently released from custody.

This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related offenses within the community.
