A shocking and gruesome incident unfolded at a mobile home park in San Juan Capistrano, where a 41-year-old man allegedly mutilated and decapitated his parents and their dog, according to Orange County Sheriff’s deputies.
Details of the Incident
Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic incident at around 7:30 p.m. in the 32000 block of Alipaz Street, near Del Obispo, in San Juan Capistrano. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of an elderly couple inside the mobile home, along with a deceased dog.
The victims have been identified as Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, and Ronald Walter Gerdvil, 77. The heinous nature of the crime has left the community in shock and disbelief.
While deputies were investigating the scene, a report came in about a male suspect covered in blood who was seen chasing a maintenance worker in the vicinity.
Suspect Apprehended
Deputies managed to locate the suspect, identified as Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, and after a confrontation, they were forced to shoot him. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, 41, is expected to face charges of two counts of murder in connection with the brutal killings. Authorities have not disclosed any further details about additional charges at this time.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and residents are grappling with the horrific nature of the crime committed in their midst.
