The Bureau County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the pedestrian who tragically lost their life in a fatal accident on Interstate 80. Devin Finley, a 34-year-old resident of Mendota, was struck and killed between the Plank Road and Spring Valley exits. The incident occurred near mile marker 70, where Finley sustained fatal injuries.
Coroner Lexi Wamhoff was called to the scene to investigate the tragic accident, which is currently under scrutiny by both the Bureau County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police. Despite the severity of the incident, no autopsy is expected to be conducted, as authorities work diligently to piece together the events leading up to Finley’s untimely death.
