Accident – Death – Obituary News : An Indianapolis resident has been convicted on two counts of murder following a tragic incident in December 2021. Camran Perry was found guilty of fatally shooting 21-year-old Andrew Jones and 20-year-old Blake Coffman in the 8800 block of Westfield Way, located southwest of East 91st Street and Westfield Boulevard.

The incident, which also led to Perry being charged with carrying a handgun without a license, was reportedly a result of a drug deal gone wrong. According to a probable cause affidavit, police investigation revealed that Perry had been communicating with Coffman via Instagram to purchase marijuana. The last exchange between the two took place just before the fatal shooting occurred.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing one of the victims stumble out of a car, followed by the other victim found in the passenger seat. Perry allegedly confessed to authorities that a confrontation ensued after the drug transaction, with Jones allegedly threatening him with a gun. Perry claimed to have taken the weapon and fired at Jones before fleeing into the nearby woods.

Following the investigation and court proceedings, Perry’s sentencing is scheduled for August 1st. The case highlights the tragic consequences that can arise from illicit activities and serves as a reminder of the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and legally..
