FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A 22-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) following an alleged assault with a knife in downtown Fort Wayne on Wednesday morning.
According to FWPD Public Information Officer Jeremy Webb, the incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. at the Civic parking garage on E Washington Blvd, near the botanical conservatory. Police received a report of an armed robbery, with a man in his 60s reportedly being attacked by another man armed with a knife.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers identified the suspect as 22-year-old Antonio Abul Husn. Despite an attempt to subdue him with a taser, Husn managed to evade capture and fled the scene. After a brief pursuit, law enforcement officers were able to apprehend the suspect and place him under arrest.
The victim sustained moderate injuries as a result of the assault, while an FWPD officer also suffered a minor injury during the altercation. Charges against Husn are currently pending.
