SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A devastating incident occurred in Springfield a couple of weeks ago, resulting in the loss of an 83-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle while riding his mobility-type electric chair.
The fatal collision took place on the evening of June 28th at the intersection of Congress and Chestnut Streets. The elderly man sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Baystate Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his wounds.
Despite the gravity of the situation, the driver responsible for the accident remained at the scene, cooperating with authorities.
