Abbotsford, Wis. (WAOW) — A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Abbotsford as two young children were discovered deceased in a trailer home on Friday. The man accused of this heinous crime has been named as Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta.

The devastating news was confirmed in a press release by the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department on Monday evening.

According to a statement from the department, Clark County Communications received a distressing 911 call in the early hours of July 5 reporting a female victim of a stabbing. Both the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department swiftly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found an adult woman with stab wounds who was promptly transported to Marshfield Medical Center for urgent medical attention. Gomez Acosta was apprehended at the scene of the crime.

Tragically, law enforcement officers discovered the lifeless bodies of two young victims inside the trailer home located on East Oak St.

Gomez Acosta, who sustained self-inflicted stab wounds, was taken into custody and later transferred to Marshfield Medical Center for treatment. The motive behind this horrific incident remains unclear.

The victims, two juveniles with stab wounds, were found deceased at the scene, while the adult female victim is currently receiving medical care. Gomez Acosta, a resident of Abbotsford, has been cleared medically and is now detained at Clark County Jail. Authorities have assured that there is no threat to the public.
