A man in Dayton is facing charges after allegedly threatening to attack another man with a chainsaw. The incident took place on July 7 in the 2300 block of South Edwin C. Moses Boulevard during a child custody exchange.

According to an affidavit and statement of facts, the victim, who was dropping off his children, noticed a man circling the parking lot. The man was later identified as Todd Harrison, who then began confronting the victim.

The victim told police that he had never seen Harrison before and believed Harrison mistook him for someone else. Harrison allegedly began yelling at the victim and retrieved a chainsaw from the back of his car.

Harrison reportedly tried to start the chainsaw while threatening to harm the victim, saying “I’ll cut you.” A physical altercation ensued as the victim tried to prevent Harrison from starting the chainsaw, resulting in the victim sustaining an injury to his hand.

Police arrived on the scene and took Harrison into custody. He is now facing a charge of felonious assault.
