A 24-year-old Indian student from Telangana, Sai Surya Avinash Gadde, tragically lost his life in a drowning accident at Barberville Falls in Albany, New York, during the Independence Day weekend.
While visiting the popular tourist spot in the United States, Gadde, who was enrolled at Trine University, met with the unfortunate incident. His body was recovered on July 7, just a month before his 25th birthday.

The Indian Embassy in the US has confirmed the tragic news and extended their heartfelt condolences to Avinash’s family and friends.
In a statement shared on social media, the Indian Embassy in New York expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of Mr. Sai Surya Avinash Gadde, a student at Trine University, who drowned at Barbervilley Falls, Albany, NY, on July 7.

The Embassy stated, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Hindustan Times reported that the Embassy is providing necessary assistance, including issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to facilitate the repatriation of Sai Surya Avinash Gadde’s remains to India.

While one of the swimmers was rescued by a Good Samaritan, unfortunately, Avinash’s lifeless body was recovered. The state dive team was among the emergency responders at the scene. Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
It is worth noting that three Indian students lost their lives in the US due to a fatal car accident in Alpharetta, Georgia.
