Mohamed Doumbouya : “Teen Victim in Parkdale Shooting”

Authorities in Toronto have confirmed the identity of a 16-year-old boy who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at a Parkdale apartment building in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police were alerted to the scene at the intersection of King Street West and Jameson Avenue following reports of gunfire within the building. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim on the balcony of one of the units who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical intervention, the young man was pronounced deceased at the scene. It was noted that he was not a resident of the building and did not possess any identification when discovered by authorities.

Following investigations, the victim has been identified as Mohamed Doumbouya, a Toronto resident. His untimely death marks the 46th homicide in the city this year.

Law enforcement officials have yet to release a description of the suspect involved in the incident. Surveillance footage from the building is currently under scrutiny as part of the ongoing investigation.

Det. -Sgt. Jeff Allington has informed the media that efforts will be made to canvass the nearby neighbourhood in the coming days to locate and interview potential witnesses.

Speaking to CTV News Toronto, a resident of the unit where the shooting took place disclosed that she was not present during the event but often provides assistance to those in need of temporary accommodation.

Allington acknowledged the presence of multiple buildings in the vicinity known to grant access to non-residents, although he could not confirm any prior issues specifically related to the building in question.

“We urge anyone who was in or around the building between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. last night to come forward and assist with our inquiries,” stated Allington.
