Francis Udumila : “Schoolboy Assault: 5 Detained”

HUBBALLI, July 9: In a shocking incident, the Ashok Nagar police in Hubballi have apprehended a young man and taken four minors into custody for their involvement in the assault of an 18-year-old schoolboy.

The main suspect, identified as Francis Udumila (19), who is a student at a paramedical college, along with the four underage individuals from various schools in the area, have been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act.

The distressing event occurred on June 27 but only gained public attention after a video capturing the assault went viral on social media platforms. The footage depicts a group of five individuals attacking the victim, who was wearing his school uniform at the time.

Reportedly, the victim was targeted for allegedly speaking to a girl, leading to a heated argument and subsequent physical altercation with the group.

Providing details on the case, Inspector Kiran Kumar Tavaragi of the Ashok Nagar police mentioned the formation of a special investigative team that diligently worked on the case, resulting in the arrest of the accused individuals.
