A 37-year-old man, identified as Edward Mazon by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office, was fatally shot during an attempted robbery in Glendale. The incident took place on the 200 block of East Dryden Street around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Glendale Police Department, officers responded to the scene and found Mazon in the middle of the road with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that Mazon, who was armed with a loaded weapon, had approached two individuals in a white SUV and attempted to rob them. The driver of the SUV reportedly shot Mazon in self-defense before driving away from the scene.

The shooter and their passenger fled in the white SUV before police could apprehend them. The Glendale Police Department is currently seeking information to locate the individuals involved in the incident.
