Accident – Death – Obituary News :
On Saturday, June 29th, a member of the public alerted authorities after witnessing a woman at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wrexham. The woman, identified as 51-year-old Dr Jane Green, was discovered at the base of the 120-foot-high aqueduct that stretches across the River Dee. Despite attempts to administer CPR, Dr Green was pronounced dead at the scene.
Post-Mortem Examination Results
Following a post-mortem examination conducted by Dr Mark Atkinson, the provisional cause of death was determined to be head and neck trauma. Dr Green’s car, registered to her address on Maesmawr Road in Llangollen, was found in close proximity to the scene.
Inquest Proceedings
During the opening of the inquest in Ruthin, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, adjourned the proceedings to a later date. The inquest will continue once the results of additional tests are available.
Remembering Dr Jane Green
Dr Green was a respected general practitioner at Caxton Surgery on Oswald Road. In a heartfelt statement, the surgery expressed their profound sorrow at the loss of Dr Green, describing her as a cherished friend and colleague. The surgery extended their condolences to Dr Green’s family, particularly her husband and children, during this incredibly challenging time.
The surgery also assured patients that appointments scheduled with Dr Green would be rescheduled promptly with another GP. Patients were advised that the surgery would be in touch to arrange alternative appointments, alleviating the need for them to contact the practice directly.
