In Marion County, Florida, a woman found herself in hot water after she was suspected of driving under the influence and attempted to fuel her car during a traffic stop, according to authorities.

An officer from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Florida pulled over a vehicle on S Highway 442 after observing the driver, identified as Christina Bermudez, speeding and driving erratically. Reports indicated that Bermudez was swerving all over the road and reaching speeds of over 100 mph.

Despite being stopped by the officer, Bermudez seemingly ignored the traffic stop and pulled into a nearby gas station to refuel her vehicle. The officer noted that she displayed clear signs of impairment, prompting a DUI investigation which later confirmed the suspicions.

Following the investigation, Bermudez was promptly arrested and taken into custody. While at the jail, she allegedly provided a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .191, significantly above the legal limit. Furthermore, she reportedly refused to sign the DUI citation.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the importance of following traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
