In addition to the concealment charge, Irish is also facing charges of weapons possession and menacing for allegedly brandishing a gun at someone just before his arrest by the police a block away from the crime scene on Monday.

Criminal History Revealed

According to authorities, Irish has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1985, with previous convictions for robbery, assault, and drug possession. In 1994, he was charged with attempted murder and arson for a failed attempt to blow up his uncle’s Bronx home by tampering with a gas pipe leading to propane tanks, resulting in an explosion. He was eventually convicted of attempted arson and sentenced to three years in prison.

Irish also served a three-year sentence starting in 1988 for robbery and attempted robbery offenses. His most recent arrest prior to Monday was in 2009 on drug possession charges.

Video Footage of Arrest

A video obtained by the Daily News shows police taking Irish into custody on Monday, carrying him out of a building on a stretcher. Outside, a hostile crowd awaited him, with individuals shouting obscenities and attempting to confront him as he was being escorted to an ambulance by first responders.

Investigation into Murder Continues

Although Irish has not been charged with the murder of Yazmeen Williams, 31, who died from a gunshot wound to the head according to the city’s Medical Examiner, the investigation into her death is ongoing. The firearm Irish was found with is undergoing ballistics tests to determine if it was the weapon used in the shooting.

Discovery of Victim’s Body

Yazmeen’s body was discovered after neighbours reported a foul odour and called 911. Responding officers found her remains inside a large garbage bag under a sidewalk shed, alongside the building’s regular trash awaiting collection by the Department of Sanitation.

Emotional Reaction from Victim’s Family

The victim’s mother, Nicole Williams, expressed her anguish to the Daily News, stating, “He just threw my baby out like garbage. This is evil. It’s so evil.” Yazmeen was known for her work helping homeless individuals find housing and resided with her grandmother in the vicinity where her body was found.

Legal Proceedings

Irish’s arraignment was pending in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday as the case continues to unfold.
