In Scottsburg, a quiet town in the heart of Indiana, a woman’s peaceful evening turned into a nightmare when her home was invaded by an unexpected guest. Tammy Densford, a resident of Scottsburg, arrived home late one Tuesday night after spending the evening at the Scott County Fair. Little did she know that her home would become the center of a court case involving 39-year-old Quentin Wright.

As Densford entered her home, she noticed a bicycle parked under her carport, a sight that initially seemed innocuous. Brushing off the unusual occurrence, she continued with her evening routine, unaware of the intrusion that had taken place.

It wasn’t until the next morning that Densford discovered signs of a break-in. Her car had been rummaged through, prompting her to review surveillance footage from cameras placed around her property. What she saw on the footage left her shocked and unsettled.

The Uninvited Guest

Between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., Quentin Wright had made himself at home in Densford’s house. He moved around the property with ease, using her kitchen, bathroom, and even setting up a makeshift camp in her backyard. The audacity of his actions left Densford feeling violated and fearful.

Upon reviewing the video footage, a man familiar with the jail staff in Scott County identified Wright, leading to his swift arrest by the Scottsburg police. Items belonging to Densford were recovered from Wright’s residence, further incriminating him in the break-in.

A Troubling Pattern

Further investigation into Wright’s background revealed a troubling pattern of similar incidents. In May 2020, he was accused of forcibly entering a woman’s home in Scott County and using her car without permission. Despite pleading to felony charges, Wright received only a probationary sentence that included mental health treatment.

Densford, understandably concerned for her safety and that of her community, expressed her desire for a different outcome in Wright’s current case. She emphasised the need for accountability and supervision to prevent future incidents.

Seeking Justice

As Wright faces multiple charges, including burglary, theft, residential entry, and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, Densford remains hopeful that the court will handle the case effectively. She is grateful for the surveillance footage that led to Wright’s arrest and hopes that justice will be served.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Densford acknowledges the potential dangers posed by intruders and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding one’s home. She remains vigilant, knowing that the swift action taken in her case may have prevented a more sinister outcome.
